Baldev Thakor
President & Founder

Baldev Thakor serves as the Senior Leader of Maya Hotels and
provides business strategy and entrepreneurial spirit for our
growing hotel portfolio. Baldev holds a Bachelors of Science
degree from South Gujarat University, India. Under his leadership
Maya Hotels has grown from a single property to multiple hotels
in the Carolinas.
As an involved hotelier since 1983, Baldev has established an
extensive career and is focused on niche areas such as finance,
development and construction. In addition to his business accomplishments,
Baldev is actively involved in the growth and development of
the local community. Baldev has been instrumental in the development
of the Art of Living Center in Charlotte, NC which provides
spiritual guidance & healing through yoga and meditation
and helps individuals enhance their physical, mental and self
well-being. The Art of Living Center in Charlotte operates in
space donated by Maya Hotels at our corporate office.

JD Deva, CHA
Chief Executive Officer & Founder

As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Deva is responsible for the
oversight of the Maya Hotels portfolio and is actively involved
with all aspects of property operations including marketing,
human resources, information technology and strategic development.
JD holds a bachelors degree in commerce from South Gujarat University,
India and is designated as a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA)
from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Maya Hotels
has become a well respected hotel ownership and management company
under the guidance of Mr. Deva and his drive and direction have
become the foundation of our future growth and development.
In support of our ever growing community, Mr. Deva has dedicated
his time to the development of the Art of Living Center –
Charlotte which provides well-being classes and spiritual guidance
to individuals, families and children interested in healing
their physical & mental self through meditation and yoga.

Naren Vivek
Senior Vice President

Naren Vivek, a critical member of the Maya Hotels leadership
team and is responsible for all purchasing and procurement for
the Maya Hotels portfolio of properties. Naren holds a BS Degree
in Accounting and Economics from the University of Wales, Institute
of Science &Technology in Cardiff, United Kingdom. Before
joining Maya Hotels, Mr. Vivek built his hospitality experience
at JHM Hotels in Greenville, SC.
Mr. Vivek is responsible for new property opening and infrastructure
purchasing, property renovations and PIP coordination, inventory
controls for key assets and supplies, insurance regulations,
and risk management. Naren also coordinates the Maya Hotels
central purchasing system where he review’s product specifications
for furniture, fixtures, equipment, and operating supplies in
order to identify the most advantageous product and pricing
for individual hotels and the Maya Hotels portfolio as a whole.

Parimal Thakor
Vice President of Operations

Parimal Thakor is responsible for overall property management,
profitability, and maintaining company standards of excellence
for Maya Hotels. He is a key stakeholder in setting the strategic
and tactical direction for the company's long-term growth. In
addition, he is responsible for overseeing the successful performance
of the management company, and its growing portfolio of hotels.
His duties include assisting the President and Chief Executive
Officer with market analysis, feasibility/financial analysis,
franchise selection, site selections and planning, contract
negotiations, in addition to acting as the owner's representative
with regard to hotel design and construction.
Parimal is a graduate of The School of Hospitality Business
at Michigan State University. He has over 5 years of experience
outside of Maya Hotels ranging from hotel operations to acquisitions
and dispositions analysis. Most recently he gained experience
at Hospitality Real Estate Counselors (HREC) where he provided
specialized consulting services to the lodging and gaming industries
including real estate and business valuations, market impact
and feasibility studies, litigation support and investment analysis.
Prior to that Parimal gained management experience in full service
hotel operations at the W Hotel – Union Square in Manhattan.

Bryan Moore
Director of Hotel Operations

Bryan Moore provides direct day to day operations support and
direction for all of our hotels. He also helps our property
management teams identify and implement effective sales and
marketing strategies in order to achieve their revenue goals.
He brings his expertise in sales and marketing, human resources,
full-service food and beverage operations, catering and event
management, and building services and maintenance to Maya Hotels.
Bryan has an extensive hotel career encompassing 23 years including
experience in all facets of the hospitality industry. Bryan
has worked with hotel franchises such as Marriott, Wyndham,
Adam’s Mark Hotels & Resorts and the Intercontinental
Hotels Group. He has also gained hotel management experience
while working with management companies such as Broadway Hospitality,
Shaner Hotels, and the Crossroads Division of Interstate Hotels
and Resorts. Bryan is a graduate of the State University of
New York at Cobleskill and holds a Degree in Hotel Management.
Bryan is also a graduate of the Walt Disney World College Program.

Bobby Costea, CHA
Controller

Bobby Costea has been with Maya Hotels since its inception in
1995. During this time Mr. Costea and has progressed from General
Manger of our first new-build hotel to Director of Operations
where he was instrumental in the development of the foundation
of Maya Hotels. Bobby has since taken on the role of Maya Hotels’
Corporate Controller. As Controller of Maya Hotels, Bobby is
responsible for the financial and fiscal management aspects
of company operations. Bobby also provides leadership and coordination
in the financial reporting, accounting, administrative, budgeting,
and purchasing areas within Maya Hotels and our properties.
Mr. Costea is designated as a Certified Hotel Administrator
(CHA) from the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Brian Tapp
Accounting Manager

Brian Tapp manages accounting functions, preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results in addition to establishing and maintaining accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations. Brian’s responsibilities also include ascertaining the financial condition of Maya Hotels by preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow, consolidated statements, and supporting schedules; comparing actual results to budget projections and developing summaries and interpretations. Brian is a graduate of Kent State University and earned his CPA in 1991. Brian gained extensive accounting experience with clientele across a broad array of industries before he joined Maya Hotels in 2010. |

Jeanne Lyle
Regional Director of Sales

Jeanne Lyle is responsible for all the Sales and Marketing efforts
of all hotel properties including training, management of the
sales process, hands on business development, marketing, revenue
and distribution channel management, and e-commerce management.
Jeanne has served Maya Hotels in various positions since 2002
when she started as a Front Desk Agent at the Holiday Inn Express
Charlotte Airport/Belmont and worked her way up to Front Desk
Manager in one year. In 2006, Jeanne was promoted to General
Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Mooresville/Lake Norman where
she grew to become Maya Hotels’ Regional Director of Sales
in 2009. |
